Tessa Edwards S/S 12 collection was conceived from studying ideas of mankind’s anthropological evolution since its harnessing of the ‘tool/weapon’. This notion follows an increasing dependence on technology and the demise of human integrity, until the balance reaches a critical point resulting in a necessary reversal for the survival of mankind. The constant focal point of the ring epitomises the cyclic nature of civilisation and the constant turning points that keep it in balance. Visual references used to manifest this include Stanley Kubrics’ Space Oddessey 2001, the graphic distortion of ‘The Vortograph’, literal use of the circular orbits, and computer generated animal prints.

The film focuses on a cyclical relationship between two characters – an androgynous youthful self and the present self constantly moving towards and away from each other in orbit.
